Adams

These are the family stories of the ancestors and descendants of James Adams and Ann Ellen House of England.  James was from Cirencester and Ellen was from Wiltshire.  James and Ellen had five children and they lived in Cirencester where he worked as a tailor.  Scandal struck in 1851 when James was convicted of fraud against Lord Villiers and was transported to Australia – leaving his family to the care of the parish.  Ellen died soon after and left her small children as orphans.  Four children survived and made their way to the United States in the 1860’s settling in Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois.
